Opportunity Description: 
The Government of Ireland Postgraduate Scholarship application period for 2025 is now open. The Irish government provides postgraduate scholarships to deserving students so they can work on research projects in their fields of interest. Other avenues for supported postgraduate study within the Irish environment are made possible by this exceptional national initiative in the country's research landscape. The scholarship program is run by the Irish Research Council.

We seek ideas that address recently developed fields of study, as well as those that introduce novel and creative approaches. Additionally, we accept proposals that increase understanding through the integration of methods, data, resources, and viewpoints from two or more disciplines. Multidisciplinary submissions are also welcomed.
The past five years have seen an average success rate of 18% for candidates in this highly competitive program. Candidates who successfully complete the program are acknowledged as having exceptional potential to lead research in the future.

Advantages of Financial Aid 
In any approved year, the chosen individuals will get up to €31,000 per year in benefits. The following components will be included in this amount: 

  • A €22,000 stipend; 
  • A fee contribution, up to a maximum of €5,750, which covers non-EU fees and is paid to the host school.
  • The researcher can carry out the research project thanks to a direct research allowance of €3,250.
